Work to implement energy conservation measures and promote environmentally friendly procedures over the past 15 years has saved the county millions of dollars, according to a staff presentation to the school board this week.

LACONIA — At the urging of State Rep. Jane Wood, the City Council will study whether Laconia should form a committee to study energy conservation, efficiency and sustainability.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has developed four energy tools designed to increase energy awareness in agriculture and to help farmers and ranchers identify where they can reduce their energy costs.
